Printgroove JT Man 5 uses virtual folders by default. In computing virtual folders denote a concept of organizing files independent of the hierarchical structure of a directory tree.

Think of them as a view listing all files tagged with a certain keyword, tag or category. Virtual folders simulate a folder whose content can be generated on the fly and be presented to the viewer as folders (which they are not).

Nice concept:

  • Fast
  • dynamic
  • flexible

Still there are valid reason why you may wish to organize print jobs in physical folders instead, chief among them: Store jobs outside the filesystem in network folders or external storage devices to decrease disc consumption or for security considerations.
