IPEX 2014 as it happened
After 6 days the IEPX 2014 closed its doors last Saturday in London. Our software solution for central print management, Printgroove JT Man 5, was running live at the Konica Minolta booth and was in charge of printing every single printfile at the booth automatically. A task it mastered suberbly.
With 1.200 m² the Konica Minolta booth was not only the largest booth at the IPEX 2014 but it also attracted lots of visitors. This was not only thanks to the presentation of the KM-1, the B2 cut-sheet inkjet press for digital short-run production, which was shown the first time in UK at IPEX, or the new milestone in production printing, the bizhub PRO and PRESS C1060/C1070 series.
Also the software applications demonstrated at the booth attracted a lot of customer interest. In the face of raising pressure on costs and time "Workflow Automation" is a central topic for both in-plant printing and print service providers. Accordingly, customers showed great interest in our software solution for the central print management, Printgroove JT Man 5.
Workflow automation with Printgroove JT Man 5
Printgroove JT Man 5 was the central software application at the whole Konica Minolta booth, which was in charge of printing every single print file automatically without any human intervention. Not only our own web-to-print solution Printgroove JT Web 5 was connected to JT Man, but also all 3rd party applications at the booth sent their print jobs to JT Man.
By means of hot folders and predefined products, which included all production details, the print files arrived imposed and were redirected with the right print settings attached to the different devices. This demonstrated the seamless communication between our software and the Konica Minolta print devices.
Automation of repetitive tasks plus the connectivity towards third party solutions are two themes generating increasing demand and we already have fitting solutions.
The Ipex 2014 showed again strong demand for software solutions providing automation from the in-house printing sector (CRD). The combination of JT Man with our web-to-print solution (JT Web) generated great interest from CRDs in universities, administrations and corporations.
In addition we received a lot of positive (and most welcomed) feedback for our new version 5.4 which premiered at the IPEX 2014. Customers welcomed both the newly integrated SQL database storing all order data for custom queries as well as the new LDAP connection for our web-to-print solution.
We spend 6 exciting days at the fair – a big thank you to all of you who dropped by. We already anticipate seeing you and others at drupa 2016!
Bye bye #Ipex14, hello #drupa2016!
