JT Printer & JT Web Printer now support Citrix XenApp

Good news: Our virtual printers JT Printer (included in JT Man) and JT Web Printer (included in JT Web and JT Suite) can now be used in a Citrix XenApp environment.

What is Citrix XenApp?

Citrix XenApp is an application virtualization solution. It is used to manage corporate applications centrally and to deliver them as service to dedicated users. Users can connect from a wide range of computer systems and devices and are able to interact with those applications remotely.

How does JT Printer/JT Web Printer work in a Citrix environment?

Both JT Printer and JT Web Printer can be either installed on the Citrix Server itself or locally on the user's client device. In both cases the user connects to the Citrix Server and uses the applications offered there to create the print file. Then the user uses the JT Printer/JT Web Printer via Print | File dialogue to send the print file to the print room.

Which JT Printer/JT Web Printer do I have to use?

All JT Printer/JT Web Printer included in our software products from version 5.0.6 do support Citrix XenApp:

  • JT Printer included in Printgroove JT Man from version 5.0.6
  • JT Web Printer included in Printgroove JT Web or Printgroove JT Suite from version 5.0.6

So if you run the current version of our software products, you don't need to install new virtual printers.

Which Citrix XenApp version is supported?

We support Citrix XenApp version 6.0 and version 6.5.
